愛 Kenjii Musings 愛

Journal of anime ramblings, fiction works and reflections

Randoms: Is the block gone??

This blog hasn’t seen my face for so long, I’ve been shying away from it. Obviously, Kenjii (blog name) hated me for abandoning him because it wouldn’t allow me to post anything on it some days. Whenever I tried to post something, it would crash on me – with such bitter hatred – so I decided to leave him alone and give Kenjii time to accept me as its owner again (which must not have been easy now that I’ve caused it compulsive bitter behavior due to abandoning him).

I don’t want to say the block is gone (I don’t want to jinx my good fortune) but I think I’m capable again of posting. I suffered a major anime burnout and couldn’t bring myself to really watch anything – even Kdrama (which usually manages to escape the clutches of burnout). I watched the first episode of Lucky Star (though I stopped halfway), I also watched the first episode of Shiki (which I got halfway through).

The only thing I managed to finish was Mirai Nikki (I had to see the ending, as much I got frustrated with the series), the first three episodes of Ergo Proxy and the first two of Steins;Gate. I’ve just been testing out my enthusiasm to watch anime and it’s slowly coming back. I decided to purge myself of everything I had an interest in just as a test, which made me miss it A LOT more than I actually expected.

My burnout made me find more amazing things from my childhood (the memories at least). I found a Super Nintendo emulator website and played my childhood favorites.

Mario All-StarsPrincess Peach has always been my favorite character in Super Mario Bros. 2. Mario jumps too much, Luigi…I don’t really like using him and Toad is just not a character that I bond with through the game. Peach is my go to, I finished the game with her and I intend to do it again. I hate the green dino.

ZeldaMy long lost love, I almost sobbed when I found this. And again, Legend of Zelda is one of the few games that shows me up for how often I get stuck in it – during just the first hour of game play (where I had to free Zelda from the guard with the wrecking ball). Now, I need to get inside the second dungeon but again, I’m stuck and I refuse to watch any walkthroughs, I’m trying to do this on my own.

MegaManI wasn’t really a fan of Mega-Man but my best friends at the time were always playing it and they enjoyed it, so I decided to give it a try. I suck terribly at it, so that’s it for me with that game.

That’s one wonderful thing that came from my purge. Another is that I got into roleplaying again, but the other day I lost my roleplay partner. He was such a good writer.

I'm still mourning the loss.

I’m still mourning the loss.

And that is all. Now, I think I might set up a schedule to catch up on all the anime I dropped during my burnout and shall also get back to stalking the blogs I love.

Oh no!!!! The anime love shan’t vanish or the anime blogosphere shall lose another! Well other than that, I know what you mean by experiencing an anime burnout. I’m currently on some sort of “old anime hiatus” where I’m watching some new shows but that’s it. Anyway, good luck getting over your block.
    Btw, watch Shiki. It’s good.

Yeah I realized you’re on a hiatus since there was only one post since the last one I read on Animeloot. I still haven’t really touched anything new but I’m over the block just to find something I really want to post about on here.

I’m watching Shiki, that and Lucky Star, although I’m kinda not understanding what’s happening in Shiki (I just watched the first episode) but I’ll get the concept.

Glad you are back =) Talking about anime burnout, lately I didn’t feel like watching anything long, it was kinda like I didn’t want to commit myself to anything that would take days to complete. So I was watching movies or very short OVAs instead. And so far I am very happy with what I am doing =) If it is the same for you, who knows, maybe it changing the format would help you too.

Nintendo *_* It was called Dandy in my country for some reason. Probably cause they were selling bootleg consoles 😀

And I’m about to update myself on your blog so it’s good to be back 😛

😮 You’re getting it too? Oh lawd, it’s spreading! I’ll try that, though it’s really not hard for me to sit through an entire episode and not get distracted or bored anymore (probably it’s because Diabolik Lovers is over \o/! God, I hate that anime.

Dandy? Lol, that’s such a weird name for bootleg consoles. That bootleg was good though, I remember using something like that when I was about 6/7; it kinda felt like the real thing 😛

Yeah, I can’t finish a bunch of TV series I started watching =) I don’t worry too much about it though, there are SO MANY good movies that I haven’t seen, I think I can sustain myself on them for a year or two xD
So you finished it *_* What score did it get, 1 out of 10? xD

I never touched a real Nintendo in my life, back when I was into in those games I think they weren’t selling the console over here. And then there was a console named Sega, and after that PC and no one was buying the Nintendo games anymore, genuine or not =)

What have you been watching? I’ve been watching some sitcom reruns like The Nanny. Lol, I gave it a 4 or 5 out 10 – and even then I decided to be a bit generous with it xD

Oh I remember Sega but I never played anything on that one. Yeah because PC took over and Nintendo wasn’t that important anymore xd
