Randoms: Is the block gone??
This blog hasn’t seen my face for so long, I’ve been shying away from it. Obviously, Kenjii (blog name) hated me for abandoning him because it wouldn’t allow me to post anything on it some days. Whenever I tried to post something, it would crash on me – with such bitter hatred – so I decided to leave him alone and give Kenjii time to accept me as its owner again (which must not have been easy now that I’ve caused it compulsive bitter behavior due to abandoning him).
I don’t want to say the block is gone (I
don’t want to jinx my good fortune) but I think I’m capable again of posting. I suffered a major anime burnout and couldn’t bring myself to really watch anything – even Kdrama (which usually manages to escape the clutches of burnout). I watched the first episode of Lucky Star (though I stopped halfway), I also watched the first episode of Shiki (which I got halfway through).
The only thing I managed to finish was Mirai Nikki (I had to see the ending, as much I got frustrated with the series), the first three episodes of Ergo Proxy and the first two of Steins;Gate. I’ve just been testing out my enthusiasm to watch anime and it’s slowly coming back. I decided to purge myself of everything I had an interest in just as a test, which made me miss it A LOT more than I actually expected.
My burnout made me find more amazing things from my childhood (the memories at least). I found a Super Nintendo emulator website and played my childhood favorites.
Princess Peach has always been my favorite character in Super Mario Bros. 2. Mario jumps too much, Luigi…I don’t really like using him and Toad is just not a character that I bond with through the game. Peach is my go to, I finished the game with her and I intend to do it again. I hate the green dino.
My long lost love, I almost sobbed when I found this. And again, Legend of Zelda is one of the few games that shows me up for how often I get stuck in it – during just the first hour of game play (where I had to free Zelda from the guard with the wrecking ball). Now, I need to get inside the second dungeon but again, I’m stuck and I refuse to watch any walkthroughs, I’m trying to do this on my own.
I wasn’t really a fan of Mega-Man but my best friends at the time were always playing it and they enjoyed it, so I decided to give it a try. I suck terribly at it, so that’s it for me with that game.
That’s one wonderful thing that came from my purge. Another is that I got into roleplaying again, but the other day I lost my roleplay partner. He was such a good writer.
I’m still mourning the loss.
And that is all. Now, I think I might set up a schedule to catch up on all the anime I dropped during my burnout and shall also get back to stalking the blogs I love.
