Journal of anime ramblings, fiction works and reflections
The plot took a pivotal turn into some serious tension levels and mystery. I knew I wasn’t foolishly wasting my faith in this anime. it seems to finally be going somewhere (
I still believe I’ll be disappointed in the end). Mr. gorgeous psychopath,Ukyo, reappeared in this episode and with some chilling words for our distressed Amnesia girl (I found out her name is actually Shujinko).
And with no remorse whatsoever, announces her imminent death.
At least he was kind enough to warn her…although with the most unsettling approach. And so it’s decided that he is a sadist just waiting to laugh at her pain. I like his character though, the way he jumps from being a caring, seemingly nice person into a maniac.
Things are getting serious. It is clearer to me than ever that her friendship with Ikki is pushing her closer and closer to death. The three crazy girls from the fan club (whose eyes are always shadowed – and for good reason too) tried to kill her in this episode by dropping a potted plant that missed her.
Shujinko has finally realized the seriousness of her situation.
Shin has always been a little anti-socialist and Toma turns out to be the most caring, considerate boyfriend of all the others.
He carried her to the hospital and watched over her until she recovered. Also he’s a good cook.
I’d like to try it…
A diary pops up, but is CONVENIENTLY locked. And that’s a hint to the fact that it holds some interesting information that will more than likely relate to
Amnesia Shujinko’s situation. There is a calendar that had marked dates for her to meet Ikki. Unlike the first few episodes where each time she restarted the August 1st cycle, written dates were erased; the written dates on the calendar remained.
Is that so because time is running out for Shujinko to uncover the mystery behind the August 1st cycle and her shifts through the parallel universe? Toma is the last boyfriend. Ukyo made it clear that she is on the last leg and that her time is coming to a close.
I’m actually really anxious to see what’s going to happen in the next episode, especially since this one ended with the jealous girls’ cutting off a chunk of Shujinko’s hair. Why do they do that? If she becomes bald-headed will that make her less attractive?
However this episode was good, I liked the plot development and the element of surprise was really well played.
In other news, I found a really nice cosplayer for Shujinko.
