Journal of anime ramblings, fiction works and reflections
Inuyasha and Kagome have always been my top favorite anime couple. It was their dynamic growth throughout the anime that kept me coming back for more. The dysfunctional quality of their relationship that transitioned into a strong, fundamental kind of love was very sweet to watch and engaging. The conflicts that tested their love for each other, especially with the constant reappearances of Kikyo gave it a certain amount of depth. Their romance wasn’t of the generic kind, which is sometimes the case of a few shoujo animes but it kept me guessing if they would actually work out to be a lasting couple, or part ways forever. And that was the case since Inuyasha took FOREVER to get over his love for Kikyo.
I love the fact that Kagome wasn’t just another damsel in distress, but a strong and powerful protagonist. They were both dependent on each other for true survival.
My favorite movie was the second one since it was the first time they kissed. I think it was the last episode before they FINALLY kissed. Their romance really embodied the true concept of love: making sacrifices, compromising, accepting your partner for who he/she is and loving unconditionally.
Inuyasha and Kagome forever! (I could never get enough of the “Sit boy!” scenes. Inuyasha’s expressions were always priceless.)
That being said, I think it’s time to finally finish watching the Final Act season.
