Journal of anime ramblings, fiction works and reflections
The fourth episode left me with a lot of perplexing questions. Questions that I thought would be answered with the fifth episode but I’ll just have to guess with the clues that Yoshimitsu Ohashi (Writer) was gracious enough to give.
Like a wind-up doll, Amnesia girl’s life has been rewound and she is back to square one. This time, Ikki is her boyfriend. There is no Shin, who is my first love. Ikki is absolutely gorgeous though and his eyes are perfect but he’s pretty conceited. That’s expected since the girls practically fawn over him and make no joke about telling him exactly how they feel, which I’m sure feeds his arrogance. Oh, to have that kind of courage. It turns out that Amnesia girl’s life has been rewritten. Her boss is not the same patient and levelheaded character but aggressive and mild-tempered. Sawa is not a coworker but turns out to be just a regular customer. Shin and Toma are nowhere to be found, which begs the question if they are still related to her life and Orion comes back.
This time, I actually feel sympathy for Amnesia girl because her memories and life are out of whack right now. I was worried by Orion’s absence but I’m glad to see his reappearance in this episode. It turns out that the previous episodes were not based on a dream-like sequence. The events all happened but there is a convolution. As Orion is about to explain this… …he turns into vanishing dust (I don’t have any pretty metaphors for this). I had a forethought of this happening and was mentally prepared but, I was still pissed off.
Where is she? What’s going on, Orion?!
This new relationship is a bit awkward. Ikki comes off as gentlemanly (he always carries her bag) and a bit of a creep. He actually tried to stare her into submission. Seems as if he was trying really hard but you can almost see that intangible force field her eyes summoned. This is why I like Shin. He just goes with the flow, spontaneous and is a bit of a dull mystery but still his character works. Enough of my arbitrary feelings though. It also turns out that Ikki is quite the playboy, dumping his girlfriends after three months. With the way he acts, I’d think it would be a three weeks time frame, thereabouts. Amnesia girl hasn’t been dumped yet and I’m guessing it is the third month since Ikki keeps murmuring “One more month” when he fails to get her to submit.
Oh! How could I forget to tell you that yet again…she fell! This time it wasn’t over a cliff though. Kento and Ikki were having a conversation that sounded like a dramatic buildup to a fight. Amnesia girl, being concerned, ran to stop them (even though they weren’t even advancing on each other) and fell mid run.
I had to laugh. It is just beyond me how she falls without even trying. She is just a born klutz, I’m convinced. After Kento leaves Ikki’s place, Ikki stops Amnesia girl from leaving and asks her if she isn’t staying over for the night.
After a lot of stuttering from her, I am left with them, the camera zooming out and the ED theme playing. Just what is going to happen? I think nothing, but just to entertain myself…
I wonder if her memories are going to be rewritten again?
